Our story
Twenty years spent removing the things that delay a project.
We began in 2004 with rural road maintenance contracts and a single grader. What we learned in those first years shaped everything since: almost every delay traced back to something outside our control — an aggregate supplier, a hired paving crew, a subcontracted testing regime.
So we bought the quarry. Then the crusher, the batching plant, the asphalt plant and the steel workshop. We hired chartered engineers into site teams rather than into head office. And we built a testing and commissioning function that answers to quality, not to programme pressure.
Today Oxford Construction works across 10 sectors and self-delivers 13 disciplines — but the operating principle has not changed. Own the critical path.
How we work
Four commitments that survive contact with the site
Values are worth nothing if they bend under programme pressure. These four are the ones we hold when it costs us.
Everybody goes home
No programme, no margin and no client relationship is worth an injury. Safety authority sits with the person nearest the work, and any operative can stop it.
Say what will happen, then do it
We would rather give a client an uncomfortable date we can hold than a comfortable one we cannot. Our programmes are built by the people who have to deliver them.
Build it once
Rework is the most expensive thing on any site. We front-load survey, setting out and coordination so that the first attempt is the only one.
Leave the place better
Spoil balanced on site, watercourses protected, borrow pits reinstated and local crews trained and hired wherever the works allow.

Founded as a roads contractor
Started with rural road maintenance contracts and a single grader.

First bridge and building works
Structures team formed; expanded into commercial buildings and reinforced concrete structures.
- 2014
Vertical integration
Acquired the first quarry, crusher and asphalt plant, bringing the pavement chain in-house.

Water, energy and marine
Entered infrastructure, energy and marine construction with dedicated specialist divisions.

Certified to ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 as a single integrated system.
